The first amendment is a powerful thing to possess. Not every country has that option. The Constitution and Bill of Rights, written over two hundred years ago is still relevant today, in my opinion. These days wherever you look, listen or read, people are engaging in political conversations. Are they correct, to me it doesn’t matter. Political opinion is in all of us, yet mine is based on simplicity. Is that wrong? Maybe, but I’m not a political expert, just an American with opinions and thoughts. Whatever you read, can you keep an open mind? I will.
In my opinion no president was, is or ever will be perfect. That is basic humanity as that we all make mistakes. Sometimes we put three feet in the mouth. Does it make us bad people? I don’t think so. To me if a political person, no matter the party, is intentionally doing something to hurt the public they serve, well that changes everything.
I am all for working together to make this great nation able to make everyone happy, equally. Is that too optimistic? Am I a Pollyanna? Maybe. I get so frustrated when I watch the news for five minutes, that I end up turning it off.
Where are the important policies?
- Creation of jobs across the board. Outsourcing is destroying our economy. Why are so many corporations hiring out of country people, paying then next to nothing and getting horrible reviews about their work. Hire and promote from within America. Give the minimum wage the boost it needs. It can help people rise from the poverty line, end food stamps etc… What is so wrong with that? I’ll tell you…from my experiences, that corporate America is cheap and selfish. They’ll throw you in the fire as collateral damage to save their butts. I’ve seen it and experienced it. It’s horrible and inhumane to see such vicious behavior from so called “adults”. Take care of your workers and they’ll take care of you. Simple right?
- Healthcare-why not just retweek Obamacare? I have read and spoken to a large number of people who prefer Obamacare to no care. Nothing is perfect, so just tweak it. Why not?
- Taxes-why do we bother paying taxes when we get some back at tax time? Sounds silly to me. And if you have a chance to read pieces of the constitution it says that we are not obligated to pay taxes, yet we do. I must study that some more.
I can go on and on, but I do not want to bore you with my thoughts too much.
I can proudly say that I did not vote for this “president “. He’s not my cup of tea in any way, shape or form. He hired corporate evil like the king of foreclosure Mnuchin. That makes me sad. Playing games with North Korea is dangerous. Ignoring helpless victims of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes etc…
We used to be first on the scene helping. without having to be asked. Now we have a government who has no empathy to those suffering around us. Evil of Charlottesville was disgustingly soft while peaceful protest to bring attention of brutality goes overboard and melodramatic. Why?
Why can’t we be a civilized country where kindness wins? Why can’t we respect the individuality of others? Why can’t we just agree to disagree without falling out?
As someone once said “Why can’t we all just get along”. I like that.
My apologies for getting political, but I had to release my frustration at the inept and incompetence that I see unfold daily.
Is fifteen minutes of fame worth destroying our great nation? Not in my eyes. Too much talking has already been done, so where is the action to bring America into an atmosphere where we cherish nature and acknowledge climate change? What about CHIPS? Our poor children need healthcare and they let it expire.
It saddens my heart that as I get older I do not feel wiser, but more distraught.
Healthcare is near and dear to as I deal with a sickness. It’s not easy and between the doctor and pharmaceutical industry I feel more violated and stripped of opportunity of healing.
Employer need to take care of their workers. It’s a win win if you both take care of each other.
Why can’t you just do that? Red tape should be cut out and humanity brought in.
So everyone has a political opinion and I respect you as I hope you do for me.
Together maybe we can make a difference and help ourselves and our children find that path of a brighter future.
Times are changing and we must learn, do our due diligence and act on it with peaceful speech or action. Every bit can help, because we are all so very important in the grand scheme of things.
Talk, debate and share. It could be the start of a kinder America. Just my opinion,
What is your opinion in these changing times?
